Michael John Pinner (16 February 1934 – 2 May 2023) was an English amateur footballer who played as a goalkeeper. [2] Born in Boston, Pinner spent his early career with Boston Grammar School, Wyberton Rangers, Notts County, Cambridge University, Hendon, Pegasus, Aston Villa and Arsenal. [3] .

Michael Thomas Pinder (27 December 1941 – 24 April 2024) was an English rock musician. He was a founding member and the original keyboard player of the rock group the Moody Blues. He left the group following the recording of the band's ninth album Octave in 1978.

May 2, 2023 · Pinner was the last amateur to play in the top flight of English football. Having played two games in the qualifying tournament for the 1964 Olympics he turned semi-professional with Leyton Orient at the age of 29 in 1963 and consequently never went to his third Olympics.

One of the leading amateur goalkeepers of the time, Mike had two mini-spells at Stamford Bridge in the 1961/62 season, making a single first-team start when Peter Bonetti and his understudy Errol McNally were both injured. Mike worked as a solicitor for most his career & played in two Olympic Games.
