Mérida (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈmeɾiða] ⓘ, Yucatec Maya: Joꞌ) [4] is the capital of the Mexican state of Yucatán, and the largest city in southeastern Mexico. The city is also the seat of the eponymous municipality.
