Now, menudo in front of the noun can be the opposite, like, you are emphasizing how big a problem is, for example: "menudo problema en el que te has metido!".

It's not really comparable TBF. As I said, it shares the name but not much else. I just don't like Mexican menudo but happen to know and like Filipino menudo; it's a stew with potatoes, meat, tomato sauce and spices, it's rather mild but quite hearty, goes well with tortillas and salsa too!

My high school Spanish book talked about Menudo like it was a currently trendy band, after the chapter where it mentions microwave ovens being a new invention (which they weren't when the book was written) and audiocassettes being super cool technology.

May 23, 2023 · Menudo is literally the band/artist I've heard the most about without ever hearing any of their songs in my life. I still am not sure they actually existed. I seriously never heard their songs on the radio, nor saw any of their music videos on TV, in the 80s. It's kind of like Ricky Martin blew up and suddenly Menudo existed in the 80s, lol.

Menudo/Dominó/Polegar were big in the 80's. Polegar is a bit different because they are a band, play instruments and don't dance. Dominó was created by Gugu using Menudo as a formula. Menudo started it all. Backstreetboys was in the 90s, and very early 2000s. Klb started in 2000s. There was also New Kids on the Block, in late 80's, early 90's.
