Jun 22, 2015 · In the spoiled chapter of the Liar of Partinel it makes it pretty clear that Hoid is Medius who was the actual Hoid's (who died) apprentice. I believe the strange descriptions of him are more a reference to the illusion of Medius taking up the mantle and calling himself Hoid.
