Jun 8, 2022 · That's the most likely explanation. However it could be an interesting case of a second generation Leopon. Males would be sterile. But females can still breed with lions or leopards. If it bred into a lion pride, then that may explain the faded markings on the pelt in the first reply. It'd be second or third generation probably.

Whats the differents between variants, and subspecies?
A subspecies is a more specific classification of something typically based on where it is found, like the Marozi Lion (aka the spotted lion). It is still a lion. For MHW think Rathian as a species, but Pink Rathian is a subspecies that *generally* only lives in the Coral Highlands.
