MV Manxman is a new-build ro-pax ferry which entered service with the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company (IoMSPCo) on 17 August 2023. The ship was ordered on 31 July 2020 and was built by the Hyundai Mipo Dockyard, Ulsan, South Korea, being laid down on 24 December 2021. [1]

Jul 27, 2023 · South Korean shipbuilder Hyundai Mipo Dockyard has delivered a new Ro-Pax ferry ordered by the Isle of Man Government-operated shipping line Isle of Man Steam Packet Company (IOMSP). The ferry is the third IOMSP vessel to be named Manxman, which refers to an inhabitant of the Isle of Man.

The 2023-built MV Manxman ferry is a passenger ship constructed in South Korea (at Hyundai Mipo Dockyard in Ulsan) and owned by the UK's/and the world's oldest passenger shipping company Isle of Man Steam Packet Co Ltd.

May 11, 2023 · The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company is pleased to confirm Manxman has officially joined its fleet, with transfer of ownership completed at 11:40 South Korean time (03:40 BST) today, 11th May, 2023.

Aug 20, 2021 · Construction has today commenced on Manxman, the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company’s new flagship ferry, at Hyundai Mipo Dockyard in South Korea. The 133m-long vessel, which is due to replace the Ben-my-Chree when she comes into service in 2023, will be able to carry 949 passengers and have 495m2 additional space for freight and vehicles.

On May 13, Manxman left Hyundai Mipo Dockyard in Ulsan at 2.52pm, or 6.52am in the Isle of Man, to begin her sea passage to Singapore. This was the first stop on the way to the island.

May 12, 2023 · MANXMAN has officially joined the Isle of Man Steam Packet on 11th May, 2023. Lars Ugland, Chairman of the Board, signed the official documentation to complete the transfer of ownership on behalf of the Company. Mr HR Kim, President and CEO of Hyundai Mipo Dockyard signed on behalf of the builders.

May 11, 2023 · Ferry Isle of Man Steam Packet Company’s new GBP 78 million ro-pax ferry MANXMAN has been delivered from South Korea’s Hyundai Mipo Dockyard. The delivery voyage will take approximately 30 days, followed by a stop on the South Coast of England for final fittings.
