You can start reading Magi at chapter 199. For Sinbad, first you have to read chapters 35 to 38 because it was skipped in the anime. Very important mini-arc. You can then continue at Chapter 55. As for which one to read first, it's really up to you. I read Magi first and I feel like this is the way to go, but it's also ok to read Sinbad first.

Start on chapter 198 to pick up where the anime left off but I highly recommend reading from the start. The Kou Empire greatly illustrates the development of all characters especially Hakuryuu.

If you have the time I would really recommend reading it from the beginning. First chapter was different and the few last episodes of season 1 were completely different (ending of Zagan arc). Muuuuuuch better in the manga. If not, then just start chapter 199 (or volume 20). Anime ends exactly at chapter 198.

Nov 5, 2021 · The thing about magi is that it had a certain depth compared to your usual fare shounen from WSJ which made it feel like a more mature and nuanced story. The “solving through discussions” you mentioned already existed in the early volumes and imo, were better then compared to the end.
