What is Maemo? Maemo is the name of an operating system and Linux-based application platform which Nokia introduced in 2005 to run on the Nokia 770. But Maemo is more than just an OS, It is the community and tools and devices—everything—to do with the operating system. maemo.org is the home of the Maemo Community.

How does maemo.org facilitate application development, testing, and distribution? Why shouldn't I download .debs or install applications from Extras-devel? How can I learn more about these resources?

First of all you have to manually download the latest version of OS 2007 for the N800 onto your computer, which you can get from maemo.org by going here. After you've done that, here's what you do next:

gpSP for Maemo is already avaiable on Maemo Repositories, What means you can either use your favourite app manager to install it, or go through the following command on xterminal: apt-get update apt-get install gpspmgui
