Jan 25, 2018 · purposely bought a macmini server back in the day just to run server services. macOS Server won't be a Server no longer and will need to be renamed to macOS Manager or something like that. sad day for macOS Server users ..... was nice using an easy GUI interface to setup my services. back to installing and configuring via the cmd line.

I also attempted to create a bootable disk but my MAC that I was using is a brand new M3 and does not support older versions of MACOS so I was unable to download and create the bootable media to recover my older 2017 Model MAC. This needs to be easier but anyhow. Thank YOU!!!

Mar 10, 2020 · If your Mac restarts to a setup assistant, but you're selling or giving it away, press Command-Q to quit the assistant without completing setup. Then click Shut Down. When the new owner starts up the Mac, they can use their own information to complete setup. If you never installed macOS Sierra 10.12.4

Apr 18, 2023 · Up until a few days ago I was able to access files on the iMac from my MacBook. The MacBook no longer can find the iMac. I go to Finder > Go > Connect to server and enter smb:// and the IP address of the iMac. It tries connecting for a minute then comes back with "There was a problem connecting to server".

Nov 6, 2024 · Since the update to macOS Sequoia 15.1, I've had the problem that the connection disconnects with some SMB servers when copying large files from the server to itself. Copying files from the computer to the server works, as does copying from the server to the computer. In other posts, the firewall has already been mentioned, but it is not active.

Feb 12, 2020 · The server has the latest (rather minimal) version of Server software installed. Three machines are connected via ethernet and the other is wifi. Connections to the file server are not stable, we are using smb. Every so often the server connection freezes and may never re-connect or may take several minutes to reconnect.
