There are no brand or size markings on the top lid of skimmer. The top lid is about 8.5 inches in diameter. Below the white basket are two holes. There is no other float. The text on the side says "main drain" and "both".

Mar 5, 2015 · Where as the MX8 has a reverse gear to get out of jams. The MX8 comes with 39 feet of hose and the MX6 has 32 feet of hose, so depending on where your skimmer or port is, that may make a difference. If you want to use a suction cleaner, you should also use one of the inline leaf baskets (any company), it'll keep the filter cleaner than without it.

Jul 21, 2017 · The Pool Cleaner is a more simple design and I read about much fewer needed repairs. It also will run on a lower flow rate, allowing me to divert more of the flow to the skimmer. I went with the Pool Cleaner and have had it for a little over 4 years. No repairs so far. The rubber wheels are starting to wear down a bit from my pebble surface.

Dec 9, 2015 · Have you checked the suction on your side port using the MX6 and a stop watch? One of the wheels has a yellow plug in the spokes. With the cleaner hooked up and running under water use that mark to check for enough suction. Time how long it takes for 10 rotations. It should be 20-25 seconds. Longer is not enough suction, shorter is too much.
