The Wodgina mine is an open-pit lithium mining operation located 90 kilometres south of Port Hedland in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. The project also produced iron ore from 2010 to 2017 before reserves were exhausted.

Albemarle will market 100% of the output from the Wodgina mine and Kemerton lithium hydroxide conversion trains. The 50 ktpa lithium hydroxide conversion capacity at Kemerton is currently scheduled to be commissioned in stages starting in the first half of 2021.
