Montana Rail Link (reporting mark MRL) (now operated by BNSF as the MRL Subdivision) was a privately held Class II railroad in the United States. It operated on trackage originally built by the Northern Pacific Railway and leased from its successor BNSF Railway .

Traversing rails that held SD45's for years, an old WC SD45 visits New Brighton. Still with low mounted brakes, MRL 1744 spits some exhaust while leaving the commercials yard. Shocking! 2 WC painted SD45's, both of Norfolk & Western heritage, on the wc transfer! Havent seen a true WC SD45 since the 31st of March. WC 7554 trailing.

The MRL, Montana Rail Link, SD19-1 is a type of rebuilt, six-axle, 1,750 hp diesel locomotive which is actually rebuilt from several EMD diesel locomotives (primarily the SD35 and SD9). Only two were built, numbered 651 and 652, and both units remain on MRL's roster.
