Feb 23, 2023 · I have a K-swapped MR2 Spyder. If you don’t have experience working on things like this, it will be an absolute nightmare and you will spend a lot of money on tools. After I finished the swap, it was a few solid months of tracking down/fixing little issues. Without experience working on vehicles, it would be a never-ending headache.

Sep 13, 2017 · Honda k20 / k24 - well documented, most of the kit is available off the shelf (Hux Racing) can be done at home with minor skill, or at a garage. Massive tubing potential, whilst retaining the characteristics of the original engine + VTEC I studied all of these for months, spending hours trawling through forums.

Dec 26, 2020 · I had an MR2 and put a 2ZZ in it. Then anoher 2ZZ. COuld never stop worrying about oil starvation on the 2ZZ which wasn't ideal on track. If I had my time again I'd have started with the K20/K24. Just a more robust engine better suited to abuse.

Mar 3, 2022 · My power goal is around 300whp, either from a built K24 or a supercharged K20 or 2ZZ. I know the buy-in to the K swap is a little higher, but I'm thinking the upsides are parts availability and potentially more power. Plus, I've been tuning on Hondata for a long time, and AEM on Honda's as well.

3SGTE swaps are looking like a worse idea every year that passes. Getting parts is getting difficult from what I've read and the up front cost of the engine is way higher than the good old K20/K24. The best swap by every objective measure is a K20/K24, there is tons of Infor well documented, it's cheaper and make crazy horsepower.

Aug 23, 2021 · K24 TSX/Honda accord headers don't fit, PLM K swap ram horn headers do K24 stock intake manifold fits, the counterfeit Skunk2 intake manifold that you can get on ebay are exceptionally well made for the money and fit better in the adub bay than the K24 manifold as well as being worth more power.

Apr 11, 2022 · 2ZZ swap - budget bare bones ($?) full monkey wrench kit with 6spd and lsd ($5k) K20/K24 swap - local speed shop quoted roughly $10k for a turnkey K24 NA swap. He has the “low mile” motor/trans on hand. Was recently rebuilt with stronger internals with full documentation. Likely around 300whp.

Nov 15, 2020 · Paying someone labor could easily be $10-15k. IMO at that price point you might as well go a little deeper and add a turbo etc or go with a different swap. I sold all of my K series stuff and decided to go with the 2grfe v6 for right around 300 crank hp NA. The swap will end up costing me around $6000 to do it myself.
