Jun 28, 2008 · I notice a bit of a sound like two marbles being rubbed together (that's the best description I can come up with) coming from the cylinder head / valve area. It's not loud or scary sounding, but it makes me worry.

The sound of a balanced eight cylinder idling at 600 rpm without a miss. The rrRRipp of instant throttle response with the slightest pressure on the gas pedal. The muscle car AAAHHHRRRR!!! when you accelerated at full throttle from a stop.

Jun 16, 2020 · V8 (flat cranks excepted), and I suspect that that may be a significant part of the tone that you find objectionable. If that's the case, likely the best way to produce a more uniform sound with a V8 is to use a single exhaust, rather than dual.

Not only does the big V8 sound quite different, it is also a lot quieter from the moment it starts than the old B-series unit. Even when wound up to 5000 rpm it is still only a muted thrum which you only begin to notice around 3000 rpm - 85 mph in overdrive top.
