Dec 2, 2023 · If you buy a top tier SSD PCIe 4.0, wi will outperform every PCIe gen 3 SSD out there, as newer controllers and NAND will do the job, it will be capped at gen 3 sequential speeds, but every other scenario, will be faster, as it's only capped by gen 3 slot on sequential speeds Just remember, it has to be top tier gen 4.0 SSD.

Oct 14, 2023 · That's an HDD, not SSD. You need a SATA to USB adapter. \ The USB end can be whatever type you want, be it Type A or Type C. Choose whichever you want (USB2, USB3) The speed differs. Although, the drive being a mech HDD, you'll most likely very limited speed wise (AKA : Don't use a 10Gbps adapter and expect it to transfer at 10Gbps).
