May 15, 2016 · My son's Kia Optima had a half block of the green rat poison on the driver side where the fender and hood meet. They chewed some of the material that surrounds the battery. So much for not seeing them in his car. He's now parking on the street instead of the driveway where this seems to happen.

Aug 4, 2015 · The one that peaked my curiosity was they said I had rodent damage! They said some rodent chewed my wiring and that caused engine malfunctioning. Never heard of this ever before and I've had lots of cars! Has anyone out there had similar issues or is this a BMW being so rodent attracting!

Oct 3, 2018 · When I took my 2015 F83 in for Parking Assistance malfunction, I was told that a rodent had gotten in and chewed through the wiring. The repair will have to be paid out of pocket since rodent damage is not covered under BMW warranty. Does anyone know of a way to prevent this from happening in the future? Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Jan 11, 2022 · I brought my X7 in for an oil change recently and they found rat damage to the engine insulation on either side of the strut covers and behind the engine between the passenger compartment and engine. They quoted me $8000+ to replace because it will apparently require taking out the engine and transmission.
