The first season of the American television series Loki, based on Marvel Comics featuring the character of the same name, sees Loki brought to the mysterious Time Variance Authority (TVA) after stealing the Tesseract during the events of Avengers: Endgame (2019), and is forced to help catch a dangerous variant version of himself.

He Who Remains reveals to Loki and Laufeydottir that he had founded the TVA in the aftermath of the Multiversal War in order to prevent the rise of his malicious Variants. He then gives the two a gambit: kill him and unleash his Variants, or take over the TVA in his place.
