Regional airline LIAT Limited has started its fleet upgrade with the first new ATR 72-600 aircraft delivered today. This first ATR in LIAT’s fleet is being leased from the lessor GECAS (GE Capital Aviation Services).

LIAT 2020 Limited, operating as LIAT20, or simply LIAT, is an airline of Antigua and Barbuda. The company was preceded by LIAT (1974), and commenced operations on 6 August 2024. LIAT20 is a 30/70 venture between the Government of Antigua and Barbuda and Air Peace, and its fleet has been inherited from LIAT (1974) and the latter. [1][2]

Dec 9, 2024 · LIAT (2020) Limited, branded as LIAT20, has introduced its first ATR turboprop to its fleet. V2-LIG, an almost 11-year-old ATR 42-600, first entered commercial service under the previous iteration of LIAT in March 2014.

ATR and the Caribbean carrier Leeward Islands Air Transport Services (LIAT) today announced the signature of an agreement for the purchase of a total of three 48-seats ATR 42-600s. The deal also includes options for two 68-seat ATR 72-600, and is valued at over US$ 100 million. LIAT will take delivery of their very first ATR 42-600 in June 2013.

LIAT serves 21 destinations including two French islands (Guadeloupe and Martinique); two Spanish speaking destinations (Santo Domingo and Puerto Rico), the Dutch island of Curacao and the unique French and Dutch island of St. Martin/St. Maarten. Throughout January 22, the sole operational ATR 42-600 of the airline, with registration V2-LIG, conducted its final flights in various islands of the Eastern Caribbean. Local governments expressed concern about the reduction in flights, crucial for connecting the islands.
