The journey through Lent into Easter is a journey with Jesus. We are baptized into his life, self-giving, and death; then, we rise in hope to life transformed. This Lent, communities are invited to walk with Jesus in his Way of Love and into the experience of transformed life.

During Lent, we are called to go outside of ourselves, seeking to share God’s love with others through our actions. In relationships, we choose to love charitably when we say to our loved one, “I will try to make you happy, I will try to serve you, I will make your good my priority.”

Lent is a liturgical season that encompasses about seven weeks where we use our time to draw close to God and focus on repentance, prayer, fasting, and giving to the needy. This year, God’s love is the theme as we explore these focus points and the story of our salvation through Jesus.

During Lent, Christians witness the love of the Savior. They also have a unique opportunity to reflect that love in their relationships with God and their neighbor. As Isaac Watts put it, “Love so amazing, so divine, demands my soul, my life, my all” (CW 125:4).
