May 12, 2023 · Seems silly to me. A junction box isn't a junction box if there is no junction. It's just conduit. As a result I am going to splice romex with the thhn in the LB on the exterior. Not the end of the world but not as nice as just having a continuous run of thhn into the panel.

Jan 26, 2013 · Using an LB doesn't make it easier and a guab14 (miniature) isn't much heavier than a cast LB. Maybe you need a guac so it can hang straight. LBs are cheap. That's the only advantage. It isn't like I've never used an LB, but after I found the small gua boxes, it's my last choice. As to joints in an LB, we all know that sucks.

Nov 11, 2023 · A 4-11/16 x 2-1/2 deep box would give you a lot more room for your splices and ground connections as well as a cable connector. Use the appropriate rated wire on the outside, and whatever cable method you choose on the inside. The locknuts would bond the nipple and LB, then add a ground conductor for your plastic charger box.

May 29, 2010 · I can't move the box down because of the LB in the wall, the wire is pulled through the box, looks to be about 40 circuits, and while some would be an easy splice most are pulled tight. I can not simply dig down and pull the pipe back up, seems they poured over the conduit as I hit concrete about 8" below grade.

Mar 12, 2019 · The LB is bonded through the metal conduit so just because you splice a conductor in it, there is no requirement to also bond the LB again. Even the NEC codes posted by @ zac talk about boxes being bonded if they have a splice in them, not conduit bodies.
