We are delighted to share that with significant engagement, receiving 47.6% (641) of the 1,409 votes, Lamakū has been selected as the name for our new Learning Management System. The literal translation of lamakū in English is torch, similar to the torch that appears in the UH logo.

Lamakū is the new official learning management system of the University of Hawai‘i, and it will be used by online, hybrid, and most in-person courses to facilitate and support your learning journey. Below are videos to help you get started with Lamakū.

Lamakū is the official online collaboration and learning environment of the University of Hawaiʻi system. Course material, testing, and communication are mainly delivered through Lamakū for online classes.
