Feb 14, 2016 · I simply showed what MY manuals reported for 115gn lead bullets. If you trust one source, then have at it. Just remember, every one of those manuals was done with the same weight bullet and the same named powder and they all used pressure tests per SAAMI requirements. Also, was Hornady referencing the MAX load or the start load?

Feb 21, 2016 · Currently, the recommendation seems to be to load using lead bullet data or, starting at the start load, work to the mid-range of jacketed data. So, you don't load plated up to jacketed max loads, unless they are heavy plated and the manufacturer says you can.

If you are like a lot of us and like to shoot often, using lead bullets helps your shooting dollar go further and therefore worth the trouble to work out a good load/bullet combo. Another good option would be to use a good plated bullet.
