Nov 25, 2008 · Sylvia Roder was born Aug. 14, 1911, at rural Remsen, the daughter of Michel J. and Anna (Gehrens) Klein. Sylvia was raised in the Remsen area and received her education in both the rural school system and St. Mary Catholic School in Remsen.

Gerald was born on Feb. 2, 1934, to Al and Sylvia (Klein) Roder at Remsen, Iowa. He was raised in the Remsen area and graduated from St. Mary's Catholic High School in 1951. After graduation he was a farm laborer near Remsen.
