Togezo is an enemy in the Kirby series, debuting in Kirby's Adventure. It provides the Needle ability when inhaled. Togezo is a turtle-like black creature with red eyes (yellow in-game) and a large, red shell with yellow spikes on top of it.

Togezo is a spiky shell-wearing enemy that has only appeared in Kirby's Dream Land 3. It is a small black creature with stubby red feet and glowing eyes which wears a shell on its head covered in spikes.

Togezos, also named Spinies, appear as an enemy in a few Kirby games from the 1990s. They are presumably based on the Spinies from the Mario franchise. To fit with the series' visual style, Togezos were stylized to have an obscured head and two feet, but their coloration still varies between games.

Needle is a Copy Ability that allows Kirby to protrude sharp spikes from himself, making its debut in Kirby's Adventure. It can typically be obtained by inhaling a Spiny, a Tick, a Togezo, or a Needlous, though there are other enemies that also provide it.

Sudden Name Change: In Japanese, they were known as "Spiny" (スパイニー) in Kirby's Adventure and Kirby's Dream Course. In Kirby's Dream Land 3 , this was changed to "Togezo" (トゲゾー). The former is from the English name of the original Super Mario Bros. enemy and the latter is from the Japanese name.

Togezo Simply having that spiky shell seems like enough of a defense, but Togezo found a way to turn his defense into offense as well! He'll occasionally roll up and speed around.

Jul 22, 2016 · My best guess is that it may be similar to why they replaced Capsule J with Capsule J2; because Capsule J looked very similar to Twinbee. Togezo might have been changed for looking too similar to a Spiny from Mario; that's even basically what its name means.
