Sudden Name Change: In Japanese, they were known as "Spiny" (スパイニー) in Kirby's Adventure and Kirby's Dream Course. In Kirby's Dream Land 3 , this was changed to "Togezo" (トゲゾー). The former is from the English name of the original Super Mario Bros. enemy and the latter is from the Japanese name.

Jul 22, 2016 · My best guess is that it may be similar to why they replaced Capsule J with Capsule J2; because Capsule J looked very similar to Twinbee. Togezo might have been changed for looking too similar to a Spiny from Mario; that's even basically what its name means.
