Sep 18, 2019 · Karve base plates range from an extremely mild AA plate up through a very aggressive G plate. Something like a B or C plate solid bar plate would be similar in aggression to the DE89, but I find the Karve shaves a lot smoother than my DE89 due to the way it holds the blade. Do not plan on ordering a Karve and getting it next week.

Jun 22, 2019 · A Karve C SB and B OC plate would be what should suit most people. The thing to note is the Karve is solid brass and a 4" handle is going to be really heavy. I have the 3.5 handle and think a 3.25 might be perfect. I have the GC84 / radio knob handle and it's my daily driver. The GC68 / halo handle would be a great choice too.

Jul 3, 2020 · So, a Friday-to-Monday shaving time gap. This would always be a Karve C plate shave for me. My second shave with the Wolfman was wonderful. Again, smooth and effortless. And equally again, no touchups or buffing required. Based on this shave, the WR2 1.05 is indeed more efficient than the Karve C while being just as smooth as a Karve B plate.

Feb 22, 2019 · Here's 1st Shave Impressions: KARVE Open Comb (OC) Plate-D Panna Crema Soap Perma-Sharp Super WTG (1st pass): super smooth and efficient. The razor just slide down the face and down the neck, almost like a blade wasn't loaded in the head. Mix of XTG/ATG (2nd pass): Very efficient and smooth.

Sep 18, 2019 · Up until i bought my first Karve, i thought the 6S was perfect on plate 2, 3 or 4, depending on how much growth i had. Then i got this sudden urge to buy a brass CB with plates A-OC, B-SB and C-SB. A month later i bought both D plates as well, and sold the A plate.

Jan 21, 2022 · Ugmug, apart from other Karve razors, I find it difficult to compare with latter day or vintage DE razors. Heft, grip, efficiency, agression, blade feel and so on make the Overlander fairly unique. From a grip, efficiency and blade feel (but definitely not heft) I find the Edwin Jagger 3one6 with a feather blade comparable.

May 15, 2022 · The Karve CB (had B, C, and D plates) never provided a comfortable shave for me. It likes a shallow angle and I'm a more steep angle shaver. The Overlander is much better for steep angle shaving and provides very close, comfortable shaves.
