While being an interesting natural formation, Kaneana Cave also serves as a place of cultural and historical significance and was home to rituals and religious ceremonies.

“ "Cave" is a generous description. Cave is not marked on the road and you'll drive right by it if you're heading north. The cave itself is only a couple of hundred feet deep and not a lot to see. If you're heading to one of the local beaches, worth stopping just to say you visited it, but not worth a drive if it's your main reason for the visit.

Also known as the Kaneana Caves, this is a short hike you can knock out if you find yourself over in Makaha. Simply hike partially up the ridge, make a right, follow the contour around the ridge and you will arrive at a beautiful cave overlooking the leeward coast.
