Connection Manager (Detailed) – KNX Association
KNX telegrams are wrapped into TCP/IP and sent by the ETS to the IP Tunneling interface, which again removes the TCP/IP envelope and routes the telegram to the lower TP area or TP line. When adding such an interface, the following information is shown:
A guide to using KNX over IP | Ivory Egg (UK)
The KNX standard allows for multiple communication methods including IP which offers some major benefits when scaling ip the system for large projects. This guide explains the different type of KNXnet/IP and how to use it in practice.
Connection options - KNX Association
Use direct IP connection when available. If this option is activated, direct IP connections to IP devices will be established in order to execute online operations (e.g. a direct device download via IP).

Interface: connect to ETS – KNX Association
KNX Virtual has one KNX IP tunneling interface, with the following default IP settings: IP address: 127.0.0.1 (local host) IP port: 3671; It is possible to change its default IP settings: Create the 'C:\ProgramData\KNX\KV\v30\interface.txt' file; Format: '<IP address>:<IP port>'
Using IP interface device - KNXer
Aug 29, 2016 · You have two options to establish communication with a KNX network over IP interface device. You can implement tunnelling interface, routing interface or both. There are a number of messages that you need to be implement to …
KNXnet/IP introduction – KNXnetIP v0.2.0 - HexDocs
KNXnet/IP is the protocol used to extend the KNX bus across an IP network. To augment the KNX bus with an IP network, a KNX IP interface is connected to the bus. This IP interface acts as a KNXnet/IP server.
The IP Interface 2.1 is a modular installation device (MDRC) and forms the interface between KNX installations and IP networks. It utilises the local network (LAN) for fast exchange of telegrams. KNX devices can be programmed via the LAN using ETS 3.0. The device uses the KNXnet/IP protocol from the KNX Association (Tunnelling).
KNXnet/IP interface device – KNXer
Aug 1, 2016 · IP interface device has a main purpose to enable communication with the KNX network. Similar like the USB interface device, IP interface device needs two physical interfaces to achieve this. On one side it needs TP interface to communicate with the KNX network.
The KNX IP Router KSR-01IP works as a KNX line/area coupler to provide a bi-directional data connection between KNXnet/IP line (main line) and KNX TP line (subline). KNX IP and KNX TP are coupled having a galvanic isolation in between.
