  1. Kawasaki KLX140RF: Easy-To-Live-With Fun! - Adventure Rider

Feb 23, 2024 · The RF model is the only smaller-frame motorcycle on the market with full-size wheels. (21-inch front, 18-inch rear). Off-road, this is a huge advantage for getting over rocks and obstacles. It gives the KLX an impressive 12.4 inches of ground clearance and a definite edge in the “not getting stuck” category.

  2. Who's messed with a KLX 140? - Adventure Rider

Feb 9, 2009 · 55 mph is the estimated top speed of the 140, so I doubt 55 would be a long term cruising speed even with sprocket changes. I'm guessing 30 to 40 mph would be its cruising speed, & 40 would probably only work with higher gearing. The KLX 140 is a purpose built beginners/trail bike & I think it's fantastic at that job.

  3. The KLX140G Thread - Adventure Rider

Nov 2, 2016 · 2. As part of my plate the KLX project I ordered and KLR650 front brake light switch which mounts under the front master cyclinder. The KLR and KLX use the same master cylinder. The mount holes are there. It fits. Looking For: 1. Possibly a tall seat foam kit. 2. Damper. Potential Upgrades If Neeed: 1. Fork Springs.

Nov 2, 2016 · Traveller said the bike feels stable and planted yet nimble. It still does with these upgrades but I'm getting more of the suspension to use and it defintely soaks up the hits a ton better. It's like everything good about the stock suspension is amplified while still feeling like the KLX. I dig it. Thanks Rick

  5. The klx140 adventure build thread | Adventure Rider

Nov 27, 2013 · As soon as I removed the 140's swinger, it became painfully obvious that the other one wouldn't work. So $360 later, I have a new klx140l swinger on the way. I also dropped the kx100 shock off at eastside fabrication to have the clevis extended 20mm and ordered a 5.2 spring from racetech as the stock klx140 spring will not swap over to the ...

  6. High Altitude Jetting - KLX 140L | Adventure Rider

Apr 2, 2014 · Turns out the lil' KLX 140L ran just as good at 11,000 feet as it did at 600 feet (minus the obvious reduction in HP). We even brought along 3 extra spark plugs, which were never needed. I guess the more simple air-cooled and small displacement motors are not as susceptible to elevation changes as the larger more high-strung motors?

  7. Successful KLX 140L SB5800 Conversion - Adventure Rider

Jan 8, 2006 · Purchased a new 2009 Kawasaki KLX 140 L (leftover inventory) from Motosport in Hillsboro, OR with plans of converting it to a dual sport for my 5’2” wife. It was definitely worth the 6 hour drive from Spokane to save $1500. I seriously wonder how dealers in my area stay in business.

  8. Kawasaki KLX 140L MPG - Adventure Rider

Apr 2, 2014 · In case anyone searches for MPG on a KLX 140, it's about 97 MPG. My 13-year old son just rode his bike to breakfast with me on a 100 mile loop (mostly dirt roads) and I knew it was going to be 50 miles before we could get to a gas station. His bike took .517 gallons, which worked out to 96.7 MPG, giving the 1.5 gallon tank about 145 mile range.

Nov 2, 2016 · They looked over the shop manual for both the klx140 and the klx 150 and compiled a list of parts that I would need to do the kickstart conversion. I am waiting on prices now, but I thought that others might be interested in seeing the compiled list so far.

Nov 2, 2016 · The stock KLX linkage one is too close for my big feets so if the splines match this might do it. If too long it's at least steel so a cut and weld could fix it up. Apparently someone or another used to make a KLX140L replacement lever but they stopped a few years ago.
