Research Labs
Our research primarily revolves around three key areas. Secondly, our team is engaged in Optical Signal Processing, where we investigate novel methods to manipulate optical signals, ensuring their efficiency and reliability in data transmission.
Core Research Facilities
Core Research Facilities is tasked with multiple functions including the purchase and distribution of lab chemicals, gases and personal protective equipment for the whole university. We provide research support to academic departments and interdisciplinary research centers at the university.
Research & Teaching Laboratories – CPG - KFUPM
The oil well cementing laboratory at CPG KFUPM is research and teaching lab in which is prepared with all facilities needed by students and researchers for cement slurry preparation, conditioning, and testing.
Labs and Facilities
[KFUPM] Academic Advising, Skills & Leadership, and Learning Support.
All Centralized Core Labs - Core Research Facilities
Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FE-SEM) provides ultra-high resolution imaging at low accelerating voltages and small working distances. The JEM-2100F is a multipurpose, 200 kV FE (Field Emission) analytical electron microscope. Nanoindenter is used to determine hardness of materials at loads as small as 0.5 mN.
Corrosion Lab
King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) realized the importance of corrosion technology, and so introduced the subject of corrosion into the undergraduate program of the department of Mechanical Engineering in 1978. In 1981, an independent corrosion laboratory was established in ME Department.
Lab Facilities
Lab Facilities. Computer Network Lab; Digital Logic Design Lab; Embedded Systems Lab; Computer Organization and Assembly Language Lab; PASS Method to Extinguish Fire
Lab Facilities
Provides information about the porosity, surface area, and particle size distribution of powders. It is valuable in powder technology, pharmaceutical formulation, and nanoparticle characterization. Used to evaluate the effectiveness of surface coatings in terms of coverage, adhesion, and surface roughness.
Laboratory Technical Support & Services – CPG - KFUPM
LTS&S is organized into five functions including support of educational and research laboratories, digital facilities, streamline laboratory equipment procurement process and develop and deploy operational health safety and environment standards, policies and culture.
Material Characterization Laboratory - KFUPM
The Materials Characterization Facility (MCF) is an interdisciplinary research facility in the Department of Chemistry. The MCF provides simulating environment for a research community across the campus, and houses advanced equipment to support research in the high-quality fundamental interdisciplinary research programs in materials science.
