Oct 6, 2022 · Judy started her NASA citizen science journey as a Duster, searching for interstellar dust grains at Stardust@Home. Later, she searched for nearby stars surrounded by disks of gas and dust with Disk Detective.

Judy Schmidt specializes in astronomical image processing near and far, with work spanning the solar system and local galaxy to the distant universe. She spends much of her time cleaning up cosmic rays and instrumental artifacts, along with blending and smoothing all sorts of data from various observatories.
