John Earl Fetzer (March 25, 1901 – February 20, 1991) was an American radio and television executive who was best known as the part-owner of the Detroit Tigers from 1956 to 1961 and sole owner from 1961 through 1983.

The Fetzer Institute, based in Kalamazoo, Michigan, was founded by broadcast pioneer and Detroit Tigers baseball team owner John E. Fetzer (1901–1991).

When John E. Fetzer died on 20 February 1991, he left a life replete with the legacy of a broadcasting empire, a World Series winning baseball club, philanthropy, and exploration of the mystical fringes of science.

John Fetzer’s illustrious career in the wine industry spans nearly a half-century, from his early childhood working in the vineyards at the 1000-acre Fetzer home ranch in Redwood Valley, California, to becoming CEO of Fetzer Vineyards in 1981 at the age of 35.
