Gija Joseon (1120–194 BC) was a dynasty of Gojoseon allegedly founded by the sage Jizi (Gija), a member of the Shang (Yin) dynasty royal house.

Chinese texts from the Han dynasty (206 BCE – 220 CE) onwards claimed that King Wu enfeoffed Jizi as ruler of Chaoxian (朝鮮, pronounced "Joseon" in Korean). According to the Book of Han (1st century CE), Jizi brought agriculture, sericulture, and many other facets of Chinese civilization to Joseon.

Jizi (chinese:箕 子) (Gija in Korean), was a semi-legendary Chinese sage who is said to have ruled Joseon in the twelfth century B.C.E. He had Zi (子) as his family name and Xuyu (胥餘/서여 xūyú/seoyeo, or 須臾/수유 xūyú/suyu) as his given name.

Gija Joseon (? - 194 B.C.E.) describes the period after the legendary arrival of Gija in northern (or in the northwest of) Korean Peninsula. Most of the Chinese and Korean scholars consider the era of Gija Joseon as a part of the Gojoseon period (2333 B.C.E. -108 B.C.E.) of Korean history.

Jizi (Gija) allegedly fled the Chinese Shang dynasty to the Korean Peninsula, where he founded the dynastic state of Gija Joseon and eventually succeeded Dangun as king of Gojoseon. Legend says that Gija brought to the Korean people many skills from China, such as agriculture and weaving; he is also credited with founding the city of Pyongyang.
