It is a good example of what curve a digital CDI normally has. The analog CDI curve above is from a Kawasaki KDX 200cc which limits the engine speed to 9000 RPM.

Jan 4, 2014 · Since the Jaguar CDI is good up to 8500 RPM I also like to see people use a rotary tool to raise their exhaust port and cut some of the piston skirt off (or lower the intake port) which allows the engine to rev higher than the stock 5500 RPM. You can change the ports 1mm at a time till you are happy with the top speed.

Nov 12, 2016 · I had to ditch the jaguar cdi for a stock one to reach 11500 RPM. there are things you can do with timing other than swap the CDI. I'm running a manic mechanic adjustable magnet to retard the timing by 8 degrees to support my RPM requirements. it's a compromise, with a different CDI I may be able to hit 12 grand or higher.

Mar 21, 2014 · I finally got hold of a Lightning CDI to test it against a Jaguar Performance CDI on the bench. Below is a graph showing the timing curve difference. The spark strength of the two is the same, using the same high voltage coil. The main difference is that the Jaguar CDI retards the timing at a higher rate than the Lightning above mid range RPM.
