JL audio - i've been told by a SHOP1 that they are much better, much better tweeters, mid and highs are going to be infinitely better and I should compensate by using sub's or bass speakers.

I have narrowed down my choice to Polk MM6501 ($199), JL Audio C5-650 ($289) and Focal 165V1 ($249). Unfortunately none of the pairs are available for listening in one location, so it is difficult to compare them.

Nov 29, 2009 · JL is super expensive. Kickers lower lines are good starter subs and their amps are solid for a decent price. I mean for free id take a W7 over a L7 but kicker bang for buck is better than JL. If you got plenty of money to blow then JL. If your smart DC audio for subs and Sundown for amps

Feb 18, 2016 · The C5's are overpriced and over rated, JL is great for subs, but for speakers, the HSK XL's are great, if you can afford it (same Price range as c5's unless your getting a good deal) Dynaudio GT 242's or CTD ES-62iUS. Those are also great speakers for the money.

Nov 13, 2008 · Hertz mille ml 3800 15", jl audio 13" w6v2-d4, or SS 15"dl-p. Probably more actually. When I had my first RL-p 18, it came with a dead coil and I didn't realize that until I tried selling it locally and the guy needed to change the wiring to fit his application.

Sep 27, 2024 · I currently have a Kicker comp c 10. It's powered by a Kicker 500.1 amp. I'm trying to determine if it's worth it to switch the sub for a JL 10W1v3-4. The sub is in a down firing sealed box with 0.74 cu ft. The vehicle is a crew cab Silverado. I just swapped all the other speakers out with JBL stadiums. My goal is better sound quality.
