Electro-Motive SW1, SW600 Locomotives . 1207, SW1, was built September 10, 1942, #1738, FN E489-1. It was rebuilt as slug BU-3 and was completed at Chicago on December 24, 1958. It was retired on May 13, 1982, and traded in to Electro-Motive in April 1986. It was scrapped at St. Louis Auto Shredding.

Electro-Motive SW1 Diesels 70, Class SW-1, was built in September 1941, #1380, FN E436-1, as Great Northern 5103, Class SW-1. It was renumbered 77 in 1943 and became BN 77, Class SW-1, in 1970.

The EMD SW1 is a 600-horsepower (450 kW) diesel-electric switcher locomotive built by General Motors' Electro-Motive Corporation (later Division) between December 1938 and November 1953. Final assembly was at EMD's plant at LaGrange (McCook) Illinois.
