I replaced the oil cooler, bought other parts and tools, and didn't want to spend more money on an IPR valve.

Nov 23, 2023 · It had a code P2623 which was an IPR valve code. I followed Pinpoint test "R" from All Data. While I was in there, I also checked pig tails, cleaned up some unrelated chaffed wires, and installed harnesses back from where someone just left them laying around. I checked my ICP and IPR wires at the PCM. and they all tested good.

Jan 2, 2020 · At hot idle my IPR percentage drops way down to about the 15% mark. Everything I’ve been able to gather about the relationship between the ICP sensor and the IPR valve tells me that this is most likely an ICP sensor issue sending an incorrect reference to the PCM, thus the PCM telling the IPR it needs to be wide open.

May 24, 2019 · Swapped it out today with an OEM IPR Valve, and the truck started, was smooth and ran great for about 2 mins, then stopped almost as if the key switch was turned off. Swapped it back to the old IPR valve to see if it would even run rough again, and it still wouldn't start. I have since put the oem back into the truck.

Aug 31, 2020 · After test driving the truck 4 times it ran good, the 5th time truck quit, now IPR Valve reading 85% on start and no ICP. I pulled IPR out and install new IPR Valve because the old one had a lot of trash on it and split the screen. After replacing the IPR valve with new one the IPR Valve reads 14.9-17% at idle and ICP reads 730-750 psi.

Aug 20, 2013 · In most high pressure oil problems, my first step is to replace the IPR valve or at least remove the valve and check the screen for debris or damage. Even the slightest amount of debris can cause issues. If the truck is a "no start hot" then the most likely answer is the dummy plugs or standpipes under the valve covers.

Sep 17, 2024 · Hydro, that's why we're confused. It's hard to tell in the picture, but the only thing that's left is the metal clip and a little tiny piece of the abs plastic. We can't determine which way it plugs into the IPR valve, or the orientation of the wires when it's plugged in correctly.
