Since 1982, the top athletes in bodybuilding, fitness, figure, bikini and physique have started their careers in the NPC. Many of those athletes graduated to successful careers in the IFBB Professional League, a list that includes 24 Olympia and 38 Arnold Classic winners.

The 2021 Mr. Olympia contest was a weekend-long IFBB Pro League professional bodybuilding competition that was held on October 8–9, 2021, in The Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. Mamdouh Elssbiay won the years' edition of Mr. Olympia.
