ATEX ZONE 2 CAT 3G - Miretti
Atex Zone 2 definition: Safe under normal operation only, where an explosive atmosphere can persist for a short period only. Miretti's Category 3G Ex equipment/conversion guarantees electrical and mechanical protection, eliminating any explosion risk.
Highest temperature achieved under the most adverse equipment rating and heating conditions. (Flashpoint temperature of some gases)
1st line (IIC) are most dangerous gases. How to read and use this table? Hot surfaces become dangerous ≥ 135°C. For that reason all Ex equipment shall be selected having a T class T4, T5 or T6. The higher the T class, the lower the belonging acceptable temperature. (T6 classified sites are most dangerous, T6 certified equipment is most safe!)
Within the ATEX code, the permitted fuel types are shown by “G” for gases, mists and vapours, and/or “D” for flammable dusts. The IECEx scheme also uses Group III, referring to dusts in non-mining applications.
ATEX is in the European Union a mandatory and IECEx a voluntary certification procedure. For the correct application of the certification procedures, please follow the corresponding regulations guidelines and standards.
To comply with ATEX/IECEx regulations, all equipment and protective systems that are used in hazardous areas must be marked legibly and indelibly with a specific set of letters/numbers.
