Tournaments - IATF
The IATF Integrated Tournament Circuit was announced in July 2023. The circuit consists of endorsed member tournaments that are categorized into tiers: Majors, Grand Slams, and the International Axe Throwing Championship.
About - IATF
To support this growth, in 2016 we founded the International Axe Throwing Federation (IATF) to standardize rules and facilitate interleague competition. Our rule system dates back over 16 years and forms the basis of league play for over 20,000 competitive axe throwers.
(4.1) Axe Specifications - IATF
8.1 Some modifications and customizations to the axe head and handle are explicitly allowed, provided the axe dimensions remain within the allowed physical specifications (weight, height, lengths, silhouette, see above):
2025 International Axe Throwing Championship - IATF
Feb 6, 2025 · We've expanded the most popular tournaments, Big Axe, The Slayer Series, and Doubles, so more throwers can compete for the title. The Close But No Cigar Final will be held on Thursday evening at BATL Port Lands, following the conclusion of The Slayer Series.
(4.2) Big Axe Specifications - IATF
The axe head length must be no greater than 7.5″ and no smaller than 6” at any point from face to butt. The blade of the axe must remain true, with one smooth, sharpened edge that is a consistent length from point to point.
(4.1) Standard Axe (Hatchet) Specifications - IATF
1. The blade of the axe must be no longer than 4" and no shorter than 3” and must be fixed to the handle of the axe with an eye-wedge or a pin (example: no ‘floating’ axe heads where the head itself is wedged on a tapering handle and only held there through gravity.)
Wilson Cup Round 1 Info 25 - International Axe Throwing Federation
Mar 12, 2025 · Round 1 of the Wilson Cup will take place from Friday March 28 to Sunday, March 30, 2025. Round 1 competitions are run by the IATF member locations that hosted leagues throughout the Qualification Period. Players will usually compete at their usual IATF league location, however, competition at another IATF member is possible (see FAQs below).
