This was the proof-of-concept (POC) prototype of what would become the bestselling HondaJet very light jet. The team’s work culminated on Dec. 3, 2003, when the POC took flight and a new business jet family was born.

In 2021, the HondaJet 2600 Concept was unveiled as a reference exhibit at the NBAA Business Aircraft Show held in Las Vegas, Nevada, as a small business jet concept aircraft that would bring new value to mobility.

These favorable flight test results led to a decision to equip the HondaJet POC, which was being researched in parallel, with the HF118 and conduct flight tests.

Following the first flight of Honda's proof-of-concept aircraft, and announcement of HondaJet commercialization, Honda Aircraft Company developed an aircraft design suitable for production, and began years of extensive testing using multiple test aircraft.
