Feb 11, 2021 · Homestuck^2 will not update again until the entire comic is finished, when it'll update all at once. Hussie expects this to take a long time. This is happening because of abuse from the fandom towards the HS^2 team, including death threats. The Patreon is closing permanently to new members, and current patrons will not be charged.

Apr 17, 2020 · I like homestuck 2, but to me, it is just a canonized fantiction, so to speak. Homestuck is Homestuck. The epilogues and Homestuck 2 are a fanmade continuation, which can be easily discarded if one wishes to do so. Homestuck 2 is intriguing, even if it lacks all the things I liked about OG Homestuck.

Sep 29, 2020 · Homestuck^2 just feels to me like it's just riffing on the themes and ideas in the Epilogues without really doing anything new or notable. I don't agree with a lot of the complaints, but I also can't really think of anything especially positive to say about it …

Homestuck 2 felt like it was made to spite the Homestuck fandom. I don’t mean that metaphorically, the decisions that were made make so much more sense if you interpret them as Hussie taking revenge on the fandom for wanting more out of the ending he’d planned for years.

Dec 20, 2022 · The writer was eventually kicked from homestuck 2. it was presented as them leaving it willingly but their reaction to it, and a hate letter that threw shade at Hussie, implies that they were basically fired. Either from being an engine of drama, for fandom or in house, or was trying to push some agenda, is unknown.

Apr 16, 2024 · It's technically not called Homestuck 2 anymore, now it's just called Homestuck: Beyond Canon. It's a continuation of the Epilogues, which are a continuation of Homestuck. Saying whether or not they're canon is hard because Homestuck is meta, so the characters themselves actually talk about whether it's canon in the actual story.
