Nov 3, 2022 · It looks like a transition phase between MK4 and MK5, like the prototype for the more combat armor oriented HEV compared to the MK4. The lighter plating, and fewer colors make it look cheaper and less functional than either the MK4 or the MK5

The HEV Mk5 concept art from VALVE had a yellow/orange de-saturated look to it and I tried to emulate that first time around. This time I want to emulate the Black Mesa model based on the HEV suit in original game with some additional stuff and a bit of my own flair.

Mar 4, 2022 · To this day I still wonder why the MK5 lost that bit of armor with buttons on the chest area, while the MK4 has it. Probably that is the place were the trackers were implemented. They're still there. The combined constantly track you in half life 2. Trackers?

We all know about the HEV mk4 and mk5 suits, but is there any idea or speculation what the Mk1-3 suits may have been like? just curious. I like to think of the early renditions of the HEV suit are the previous models. Mark III.

Aug 16, 2018 · If it was reimagining then why the hands and the suit models are quite similar ?? Is there a lore in half life for this (i.e mk5 was actually built on mk4)

The HEV 5 was built in a secret hideout with whatever one scientist could scavenge. It sort of reflects gameplay wise as well: in Half-Life 1, you're able to full on sprint with no recharge, and your suit can take on more damage, while in Half-Life 2, you have a stamina bar, and the suit charge takes on less damage before fully depleting.
