Haq Nawaz Jhangvi (Punjabi/Urdu: حق نواز جھنگوی, romanized: Ḥaq Nawāz Jhangvī; 1952 – 23 February 1990) was a Pakistani cleric who founded the Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan, a Sunni Deobandi group known for its anti-Shia thoughts, on 6 September 1986.

Hazrat Maulana Haq Nawaz Jhangvi was born in 1954 in the town of Jhang. After completing his primary education in Arabic and Theology, he left for Multan where he studied in the renowned Islamic University, Khair-ul-Madaris.

Founded by Pakistani cleric Haq Nawaz Jhangvi in 1989 after breaking away from Sunni Deobandi party Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F), it was based in Jhang, Punjab, but had offices in all of Pakistan's provinces and territories.
