Hagane Daido (大 だい 道 どう 鋼 はがね Daidō Hagane?) is a character in the Jujutsu Kaisen series. He is the incarnation of a nameless master swordsman and is currently participating in the Culling Game.

Daido pretended to desperately swing his sword at Naoya, only for his hand to be cut off as it flied over Naoya's head with the blade. In fact, he was throwing the Split Soul Katana to Maki, who was behind Naoya and unaffected by the domain's effects due to her Heavenly Restriction.

Feb 9, 2025 · When Daido hits a creature with a melee weapon attack, he can expend one superiority die to attempt to damage another creature with the same attack. He chooses another creature within 5 feet of the original target and within his reach.

Seeing as she and Noritoshi can't make any headway against Naoya, Maki tosses her cursed tool to the old man, Hagane Daido. Daido is a peerless swordsman and outlier among Culling Game players who can wield a blade but not cursed energy. Daido bisects Naoya with a single strike.

Nov 13, 2023 · At this stage, I'll shift focus to Daido Hagane aka "Katana-san", introduced in chapter 195. His very introduction is quite eccentric. He is perplexed that in modern Japan, the katana has "fallen out of status," to the point where he is unable to find one laying around - "why is the katana not the very soul of the Japanese man?"

Daido's immense power comes from his sheer lethality with a blade and his enlightened view of the world. He sees with more then just his eyes.
