Dec 6, 2023 · After building the base, I added the loop of track and two turnouts to give some operational reason for the railroad. To give the layout a better profile and keep it from looking flat, I added additional thin foam pieces around the layout and in the corners.

Here is the updated track plan as of February 2021, showing the existing layout in black and possible future extensions in blue. The main changes to the original track plan are the addition of the trestle over the Mill River and the Maine Central crossing and ball signal.

The track plan is designed as single line in “double 8” figure with one small station in front and train stop at the back.

Oct 1, 2008 · I decided to build a small proper HOn 30 layout. It is only 13.5" x 24" and is based on a plan in the Oct 1979 MR.
