Gyantse, officially Gyangzê Town (also spelled Gyangtse; Tibetan: རྒྱལ་རྩེ, Wylie: rgyal rtse, ZYPY: Gyangzê; simplified Chinese: 江孜镇; traditional Chinese: 江孜鎮; pinyin: Jiāngzī Zhèn), is a town located in Gyantse County, Shigatse Prefecture, Tibet Autonomous Region, China.

Gyantse is located between the two largest cities in Tibet – Lhasa and Shigatse. Most visitors arrive in Lhasa by air or train and spend a few days exploring the capital of Tibet and acclimatizing to the plateau’s high altitude.

Gyantse is once the leading centre for wood and wool trade between India and Tibet. In 1904 it became the site of a major battle during Colonel Younghusband’s advance on Lhasa. The British troops spent a month in Dzong at Gyantse before heading to Lhasa.
