Jul 22, 2014 · That's just what I think anyway. All artists styles change over time. Miura's has gotten significantly more detailed over the years. If the change in Guts' face isn't intentional, then it's probably just that Miura is drawing a little differently now than he did before. Which was years and years ago at this point.

Apr 23, 2020 · I'm the first person that I know of to have compiled Guts' face over a wide range of volumes to compare the changes in art style. That was a very long time ago. That was a very long time ago. Back then I was making a point against the idea that there ever was a specific ironcast art style from which things would then have deviated.

Based on his face from the manga. Proportions, etc. #4 his eyes are more squinty, and his nose more pointy and narrow. #3 nose is a little long. #2 gives him full lips, and his chin isn’t a super strong/frontal chin.
