Feb 26, 1999 · As Bob H. stated, tuning your E to straight up on the tuner with the pedals down takes out the guitar's detuning factor. So if you tune your G# to A strings to A440 pedals down, that will put the relaxed E's a couple cents sharp. When you tune like this, you don't have to avoid open fret pedals down A chords/licks which I use a lot.

Dec 9, 2002 · It's best to just know your guitar and do the best you can, the operative word being do. The more you do it, the easier it becomes. I have thought a lot about tuning--like does sweetening a tuning contribute to slants being more in tune? But ultimately, I'm not that intense about tuning to have any real routine like that.

(I've seen this a hundred times, even with top-level pros playing each others' guitars.) Steve's chart shows considerable effort, and we all should thank him for it.

Dec 19, 2024 · I can also quickly tune the C's up to C# to get an A7 tuning. 2. The high A6 gives me the extra advantage of having the 5 on top so I don't have to move about as much. This is a big advantage for me as I have a tremor in my right hand that makes picking accuracy difficult. I can also quickly tune the E down to D# and have a great B11 tuning.

Press both B & C pedals and tune strings 4 & 5. 6. Press A pedal and F lever (LKR) and tune strings 4 & 8 to F. 7. lower strings 4 & 8 with my LKL, and tune to D# 8.

Jun 3, 2019 · Whatever is happening is in the pull train for raises or lowers on the guitar. Check to see if the raises go lower, And the lowers going higher out of tune.
