Aug 23, 2014 · For micing guitar cabs i used to use either before i found out that there are so many other mics that behave better ie improved overall frequency response compared to the Shures mentioned. However, if you mainly depend on your amp sound with a tad through the PA i guess it doesn't really matter, especially in a rock setting with drums.

The Positive Grid Spark Go looks like just the ticket, but I'm curious if there are other options. Dec 16, 2010 · it had more processing power than the other amps in the line so the models sounded a bit truer to the amps, plus it also did pedal emulation as well as rack effects emulation AND it models 2 different amps at a time, which can be mixed together, or split L/R, which is typically how I run it, running the Vetta Head into a pair of 2X12 speaker cabs.

Mar 31, 2023 · I'd say give it a go. I got it along with a GT-1000core (both do well on this chart). The Amp Academy is quirky in terms of its design, but it sounds awesome (including the reverbs and overdrives/distortions). I'm using the Boss for effects and with my bass, but find myself leaning on the Amp Academy for the guitar amps.
