Feb 20, 2010 · The "G shield" headstock logo was more or less replaced by the "Chesterfield" logo after 1957 although, like most things Guild, there are exceptions. The "peaked Guild" logo also dates back to the early 1960's. The label style in your example was introduced circa 1975.

Mar 8, 2006 · Following usual Guild practice there are some models that should have had the Chesterfield inlay but didn't get it. The low-end models usually had a simple Guild decal or just the Guild logo in pearloid. Maybe you should take a look in 'The Guild Guitar Book' which will give you a good overview of the different headstocks between 1952 and 1977.
Stump the experts: Never-before-seen Guild guitar case

I've never seen such a case on a Guild sold in the U.S. Is it possble Guild shipped guitars overseas without hardshell cases (possibly to save on shipping costs?) which then got cases upon arrival in their new country, ones made in that country? Legit? Or did someone just install a Guild logo badge on a non-Guild case?!

Feb 5, 2013 · The Guild guitars with the stencil logo were less expensive with fewer features than the fancier models, but it does not mean they were of lesser quality. You will find the exact same logo on beloved and renowned acoustics like the M20 and F20 too.

Jan 4, 2024 · My vintage M75 has this Guild logo that I haven't seen on any other models. Has anyone seen this style of the logo on any other Guilds? The font seems different than others I've seen and I've never seen it with the peak filled in like this.
Guild d4 NT information - Let's Talk Guild
Oct 12, 2015 · The Guild D4 I have has an ebony headstock with the Guild logo in gold letters with sides and back that are quite a bit darker than normally found on a D4. The serial number (CF 006738) dates to 1994. I've called Guild customer service but they cannot explain the ebony headstock and the darker finish on the back and sides.

Jun 19, 2008 · My 1974 guild f-112 has the inlaid guild logo, and the chesterfield inlay below, similar to the 75 guild you posted. The bridge and fingerboard were brazillian rosewood! neck and body mahogany, top spruce- it sounds great!!!!! People have bought Guilds because of this guitar.
Origin of the Chesterfield? - Let's Talk Guild
Sep 10, 2013 · Being somewhat of a visual person, the thing that I love about the Chesterfield, coupled with the Guild logo, is its simplicity and easy recognition. The G-shield/Guild combo works, too, but it's not as clean or instantly recognizable, at least to me, as the Guild/Chesterfield combo. The Chesterfield fits perfectly between the tuners.

Dec 14, 2024 · Top on right has scalloped braces, note the "dip" in the center of the braces. Guild also used "shaved" braces which aren't quite as aggressively scooped as scallops and may just involve thinning the edge along the top of the braces. "Bluegrass" was simply a marketing name used by Guild in the early '60's to ID guitars intended for that market:
